Just an FYI as to where dealers are going w pricing - Peoria Pontiac in Arizona has an ad in today's paper (Sat, 31 July) a 2004 GTO w MSRP @ $33,190 discounted to $27,999. "sale through 2 Aug"

Most likely a demo with a bazillion miles in it already and has been "broken in" by the owner's son.

Peoria Pontiac does not have a good reputation and I can attest to their inflexibility just 2 months ago when I was searching. They were adamant about the dealer mark up. I doubt if they became born again Christians suddenly in the 2 months since I've talked to them.

I work for O'Hare Pontiac in sales and will say that if it is a brand new, no mile car- that price is suspicious because they would be losing about $1,200 on the car.

It was a new car (<100mi) and it's still there (per a Steve Dunwoody).
My contact at Coulter Tempe (John Skoko, e-commerce) told me that Ponitac had just released a $2K rebate on GTOs but the other $3191 includes military, $1K old loyalty, etc ... discounts that most people don't qualify for. In the end GM-S is still a better buy.
