Had an absolute blast. Now I am hooked :D . I thought I loved drag racing, but Road Atlanta can't be beat. Now its time to upgrade my brakes, continue suspension work, and replace my screwed up tranny.
Its unbelievable how much abuse the car receives :eek2: . Brakes, motor rpm, tranny/clutch temps, and I am sure there is alot more.
Just wanted to see how many have been to Road Atlanta. I will be going back in the spring after all my winter upgrades. Will have to stay in Class C due to my cageless vert, but thats fine for me.
WOW, it was a blast
Dang feller,,, I'm envious. I plan on making it over to Talladega GPR, Roebling Road or Road Atlanta this year,,,, one way or another. I tried to get up some folks who would want to rent Talladega GPR. At first there were people everywhere, come time to pony up the money,,,,,,,, they evaporated????
Did they let you run the whole track or did they keep you down in the small section?? I have run R.A. several times on a bike but haven't been there since all the repaving and reshaping.

The whole RA track is awesome. I've done it a few times and can't wait to get back up there again soon...
I will have to come back to the states for that sometime.

I live 4 Hours from Atlanta (FT. RUCKER, AL) and I am curious as to the specifics of getting on the track, can someone enlighten me.
And roy, I have been told by people who have been to Talladega and Atlanta and HCKHM that Hockenheim is the best by far, I will let you know once I get up to Atlanta.

Did that track on a bike racing in WERA but haven't been out to do it in a car. Must be something different to come down that back stretch in car and wonder if you are going to slow enough for the left/right?!!
Gets the blood running on a bike!!! Damn envious.
Tweety2, when were you racing and what class/classes did you run? I ran with WERA back a long time ago {three seasons} in B-Superbike, D-Production {see, I told you it was a long time ago}, D-Superbike and F2.
Had a dern good time, one of the best times in my life.

That sounds about when I was there for the GNF. It rained the whole race that I was in, (4 hour endurance). Our bike then was a GSXR1000 in USS.
Now I have been converted to CMRA.
No, no, no,,,,, a long time time ago {15yrs}. BTW, what organization is CMRA? All we had beack then was WERA and AMA.

Haven't been to road atlanta, but we have our '99 SS setup to race the 100 mile open road races in Nevada; shoulder harnesses, 1LE sway bars, Bilstein shocks, racing pads, etc.
