The Hot Rod gets a new best and another win!
I went to HRP last night to break in my new slicks and see if I could get into the 10's.
I did not get into the 10s but I did run a new best.
RT.529
60 ft.1.49
330ft.4.539
1/8 mile ET 7.06
1/8 mph 97.18
1000ft 9.24
1/4 ET 11.07
1/4 mph 123.15
I was racing in there jackpot bracket race and won this little event.
I was upset with the guy that I was racing in the final. He changed his dail in from a 10.78 to a 10.99.(same as mine) He didn't think that I was a very good driver and I couldn't cut a light. Little did he know. I cut a perfect .500 light on his a** in the final. He cut a .586. Dumb A**!
I got off the gas at the top end and ran a 1.49 60ft,11.08 ET at 115 mph. I think that I showed him a thing or two.
Well, Boys and Girls I think that I am ready for the Bracket finals this weekend.
Big time money on the line and I have alot of confidence right now. It should be a pretty good weekend for the Hot Rod in Shreveport, LA.
Iam getting ready for the Thunder Shootout are you?
PS. It was great to meet Pain(Larry) and his Dad last night. Also it was great to see James again.(My little drag racing buddy).

Re: The Hot Rod gets a new best and another win!
Hey Coach what class were you running in I was in the no electronics jackpot and got screwed. My time slip said I lost in a close race where I couldnt tell. I loaded up and went home. Some friends of mine stayed behind and they started calling my name over the load speaker saying I had advanced. When they went up in the tower were told that HRP was switching to digital print outs from analog and they were having some problems. They told them if I could get back in about fifteen minutes they would wait. I was at the old and lost river when my friends got hold of me and choose not to come back.
It was my first time to run my car I was happy!

Re: The Hot Rod gets a new best and another win!
congrats Coach, it's always better to beat someone in et racing when they try to play games Best racing advice I've gotten is don't change your style for anyone! If someone decides to take you lightly b/c you look like an duck, it's ALWAYS a bad idea.
Congrats again!

Re: The Hot Rod gets a new best and another win!
Congrats on the win Coach!
It was cool to finally put a face to the name! You definately know how to drive that machine!!!
Sorry we didn't get a chance to stay, and get a video of that last run, bet it would have been a good one .
Good luck with those bracket finals coming up!!

Rageman, Thanks.
XFiveLiter, Thanks also.
Landlord, I was running in the no electronics jackpot class. I saw ya in front of me in the 1st round. I was surprised that you didn't win your race it looked to me that you treed the guy. Better luck next time. No, my Hot Rod doesn't have strips on her. Just pewter with prostars, 30x9x15 M/T slicks, red numbers(TX01) and Coach Ray on the side windows.
Hardtop, Thanks.
Villian281, Thanks, I was not going to change my style for this guy. I just wanted to beat him really bad.
Larry, Thanks and it was nice meeting you also.

Great Job Coach I've been racing 39 yrs and i've never had a 500 light in eliminations. I've had some in time trials but never in eliminations. Good luck at the bracket finals and looking forward to meeting you at the Thunder shootout. Frank95z

Great job Coach!! 10s would have been easy if you would have stayed in it.
BTW, can you ship those 4 spacers back to me. I need them Monday. Just ship them to the shop.
