Default oil pump advice..

hey guys...doing a cam swap real soon..my question is,i'm going to swap the oil pump at the same.Is it that important to buy a ported pump from one of the sponsers for like 150.00 or should I go to my GM dealer and get an ls6 pump for 59.00..give me your opinions...

You should be fine with the GM pump. That is what i was going to do, but it was going to take way to long to receive it. It is a special order item at GMPP, so be ready to wait. I ended up buying TSP's ported pump due to lack of time (received it in 2 days), and it has worked just fine.

Sorry i forgot to mention, the oil pump price at a GM dealer is ~$110 (at least that is what the charge here) and they also charge $11 for the o-ring. To get it for $59, you have to order it from gmpartsdirect.com (which is where the wait begins).
