What gear for mid 11's N/A cam only?
O.K., gonna do a 12 bolt over the winter. I'm looking to get my car into the mid 12's next spring with the rest of the boltons ( pulley, ported TB, t-stat, SFC's, spec clutch, shift light, line lock) along with the mods in my sig. I plan to do a cam package hopefully next summer, hopefully get to the 11's What gears should I be having put in the 12 bolt? Last time I ran the car ( stock F1's ) the 60 foot was trash either spun or bogged, now that I have some e.t. streets, I know that the spinning will be gone, but I am concerned about the car bogging out of the hole. If I go with a cam in the range of a TR224 or something like that, ( emmissions testing sucks )what gears should I be running? Car weighed 3625 with the stock rims, the bogarts I have now are 90 lbs lighter, but the SFC's and rear are gonna put the car around 3700 I figure with me in it. I'm thinking 4.30, as I don't want to gut the car to lighten it, it's gona stay heavy for the most part. Any ideas?

most people are going to say 4.10's if you drive it alot
4.30's are going to put you around 6400 w/ the stock cam, would not be surprised
if 4.30 & 4.10's et about the same..(with the stock cam)

I figure that the stock motor with boltons would run about the same with 4.10's or 4.30's. I don't drive the car much at all, only to a couple cruise nights, and to the track every now and then. I am just want the car to be quick enough to make sure that all the new all wheel drive imports and the pesky 03 cobras will not be too much of a problem. I am really leaning towards a cam and valvetrain upgrade next summer after I get this stuff done, either that or slap on a vortech/procharger setup. Will the 4.30's work with a blower setup like that, or am I back to 3.73's for that? Either way, it should be enough to put the car into the 11's without too much effort, which is all I want anyway. The "trailer queen project" that I will start once I have this car runnign where I want it will take care of my need for speed. Besides, the car is nice, the a/c is cold, and it's comfortable, the way a street car should be. I don't wanna lose all of that, just a little bit of the gas mileage.

I would go 4.30s if you are staying NA probably 4.30s with blower too. With the six speed 6th gear makes it great for cruising. If you go blower just use a slightly taller tire (27-28 inch)

Thanks Chris, I know that you have plenty of track time, and have probably tried most of the crap ( except maybe the blower ) that I am thinking about. As long as I can get over the thoughts of abusing the car, and launch like I should, I should have no problems. If I can't get over it, I guess a TH400 and a 4500+ stall will fix my issues, that just leaves hard on it's own

i have a m6 w/4.11's i'm only on 1,800rpm'a in 6th gear at 70mph. i think i'm going to go to 4.30's,that should put me at 2,000rpm's at 70mph. i'm also a head and camed car,all boltons w/ 150 shot nos,on 26''tires. the 4.30's will be great for you. you'll get out of the hole fast on those cobras,i'de put no less then 4.30 in your car. ow yeah...with my 6,800 rev limiter i can still top at 160mph with those 4.11's.with the 4.30's and a 6,800 rev you should still have a decent top speed of near 150mph.
