Default which drag wheel

I am about to buy me a set of wheels for my car to mount slicks on and a set of skinnies too. My question is what wheel will work the best with no spacers etc....and I would like to know some weights of the different wheels available too so I can make the best educated decision. I want 15" all the way around for this setup.

Some of the lightest wheels I have seen are the Aluma Stars by Weld. They are $$$ though...

I would get 15x10 and grind your calipers to get them to fit.

Centerline Comvo Pro 15x7 also fit without grinding. But you are limited to a 8-9 inch wide tire unless you dont mind an uneven contact patch.
Cheers,
Chris

Bogarts fit without grinding. 15 X 9.75. Look great and are light.

Sorry for not knowing but who makes Bogarts? and do you possibly have a pic? How about the Telstars that GMHTP did an article on will they fit an LS1 car or will my brakes cause a problem too.

Hey Chad, it looks like you're getting pretty involved with the car. I wonder what's in the future? As I mentioned the other night, the Convo Pros will bolt right on. However, you won't be able to get the 15x10" rim that you'll need for a set of 28" tires. You're going to need it for the new powerplant! You can see what the Bogart wheels look like if you check out any of the threads in this forum about the "BeaSSt". Dave and the gang just put a set of Bogarts on, and they're SWEET. They're just a little pricey, though. They're supposed to be 12 lbs. lighter than the Pro Stars or Draglites. Just don't drive them on the streets because they're pretty thin; they'll bend easily.

im in the middle of installing my new drag rims right now, they are 3 piece rims made by "holeshot racing" 15x 10 (with 7 3/4 b.s.) and 15x4. the rears took about 5 mins. grinding per side with no spacers. the fronts are gonna need a 5/16 spacer. NAPA is bringing it to me now. ill take some pics when i get them on with my digital camera, and if some one will host them. i will post pics.

Bogarts may not require grinding with a stock rear end, but with a Moser, I had to grind.

I'm running 5/16" spacers on all 4 wheels with the Bogarts I got from PPO.

I like the looks of 'em, but it sucks that the "no grinding" wheels required grinding to make them fit.

i got the wheels on finally, the fronts took quite a bit of grinding. and a 5/16 spacer.
overall im happy with new rims, the "holeshots" are made in palm coast florida, ( i lived in daytona beach for 28 years) they are very popular with the locals down there.
they are super light i weighed the front on a digital scale, with a brand new 165r 15 it weighed 22.8 lbs. i didn't weigh the rears.

No aftermarket rotors. I do have newer AutoZone rotors up front, along with brand new Raybestos Quiet-Stop pads up there.

The problem in the back may be related to the physical bolting of the backing plate to the rear end. There is some 'slop' in there when bolting it up, and I may be able to force the caliper in towards the center of the axle, thus giving me clearance. I may try that when I pull the rear end apart for the 4.56's.
