Default black ash coming out of my exhaust?

Ok so i was driving one day and one of my iginition coils fell off. So my father put it back on and everything seem to be in check. Drove my car a few days and it didnt seem to drive exaclty right. My gas mileage dropped to like 14mpg and it just didnt drive the same. Then i started up my car today and i noticed black smoke coming from my exhaust followed by black ash(at least thats what it looked like, i dont know how to describe it but WTF? I'm guessing im running really rich but what would cause this?

The black ash you see may be carbon. Most cars put at least some carbon out of the exhuast, some more than others. That's why areas around your exhaust get black.

no cats, straight pipe. My dad scanned my car and the mass air flow was fucked up or something, idk i forgot what he said.
