And how do we fix this? I this a major sensor of some type? Thanks for a timely response.
BTW- this is at the back of the block...

How do we get the rest of the broken threads out??
This wasnt on the back of the intake, it's on the back of the block, so it's the oil pressure sender??
My 99 didn't have that there..? confused.

For Future referance when doing an Intake swap, it is the brake booster rubber vacum hose that breaks the sending unit, before removing the intake, slide the special socket over the sensor that way when you remove the intake it will support the sensor and not let it break. This forces you to lift the hose over the socket and not break anything.

Heh, just broke mine trying to put the intake back on after the heads/cam swap. Dealer wanted $47 for a new one, O'Reilly had it for $27. Boo @ West Side Chevrolet. Yeah they really should add that to the how to (It's what I was using) and perhaps how difficult it really is to get the front crank seal off... and the farthest back bolt holding on the coil pack bracket on 99+ cars. Also Some info on A4 car would be helpful... I broke my pully trying to get it off (heh perfect excuse to get an ASP ). Also the how to makes no mention of the AIR and EGR that I recall. Either way, they should put a metal sleeve around that sensor.
