Reduce Timing with EGR Removal?

Reduce Timing with EGR Removal? Have any of you guys timing after EGR removal? I am finally getting all my trims negative, but I have been seeing some part throttle knock retard since the removal (via PCM) of EGR.

On my car timing is added for the EGR

so then whats the concensus? If you delete it via egr enabled/disabled button your good to go and just remove it whether your swapping intakes or just removing egr? Or is there something in the high & low octane tables you have to adjust for? If im set I'll pull that eyesore tomorrow lol

I never quite figured this out. If I remove EGR with the HPTuners option. Since it still throws codes...does it still apply the timing found in the EGR timing add table? I can easily zero it out...

After I removed the EGR on my 98 with an LS6 intake and LS1-Edit. I wound up adding a few degrees of timing (~2). I'm not sure if this was due to the LS6 intake making my engine stronger(or maybe just more efficient) or the lack of EGR.

Yeah. It turns that extra timing off when you disable EGR. I think it is still too much. I think they factored a little bit of the EGR table directly into the main timing table, and the rest into that EGR table. I removed some timing in some choice spots and I get way less knock retard, and a big difference in knock when you first punch it. I heard a little pinging at moderate throttle, and I think this fixed it too. Too much timing for my temperamental car I guess. I need a 160 stat...I get the most kr when my engine bay gets heat soaked.

spark vs IAT table. Presuming you have the fans set proper
so that your stock 'stat is maintaining a steady 194F while
sitting, ECT shoulf not be a factor.
