Default It just keeps getting better. New best-H/C daily driver 11.18@119.77mph

Well we missed out on the Thunder event due to other reponsibilities and being on call, but we made it out to HRP for an attempt at a new best with the wifes' grocery getter. The only difference between this night and the previous best was the installation of my Shaner S2 ported TB and the addition of my front seat as well as a bit better DA. Due to the long lines and track prep going downhill, we missed the ideal air window. I did manage to improve on my previous best 60 ft to a 1.486 . My weather station had predicted an 11.13 for my next pass , but the tires gave way to prevent that . We have been very fortunate to have slowly inched our ET down with every trip to the track. I sure hope it continues on that path until I hit elusive 10s. Here are the results:

DA= +100
Race weight w/ driver=3485#s
ET=11.187
60ft=1.490
MPH=119.77

Basic Mods are:2001 Camaro SS
Stock 346 short block
Stock rear:3.23s
Stock tranny w/ Yank ST3500
FLPs
MTI S2 Heads
C1 Hammer cam (112 lc)
26x10-15 ET drags

PS Lohn, can you update me on the list? Thanx.

man that is simply awesome. Whenever I get my car, I hope you don't mind me copying your setup.

It's definitely done by the KISS standard. (Keep it Simple Stupid)

Congrats on the time.

I agree with the simplicity path. I actually copied my H/C set-up from John Campbell. It is definitely a proven combo. If I could just lose a couple hundred pounds off of the car, I would be there easily. The launch and 60 ft is as perfect as I could ask for with 22 lbs in the rr airbag. The only suspension mods is the BMR TA and the removal of the front swaybar.

My 1/8th mile ET was 7.087 @ 96.16 mph.

Thanks for the compliments.Take care.

James,

Congrats on the new times.

Are you going to race this weekend at HRP? They are running for big time money this weekend.

Iam going to try and set a new record for ET with a M6 LS1 346 Hydro cammed Hot Rod.

James, it was good meeting you Friday night. I didn't realize your "wifes" car was that fast....

Maybe we can hook up and run sometime.

It wasn't always that fast. You should have got a piece while the getting was good.LOL. Yeah we can run them sometime. I ran it in street trim and Nittos and I'm only off by 2/10ths.Of course that's at the track. The street is a different story, but I know you already know that. I'll catch ya'll later!

Actually I have a Chevy Z-71. I guess you could call me the Pit crew/Tweak master . Oh I get to drive it sometimes. Ya know I gotta make sure it's performing like I expect it to.lol. It just makes life good to make a team relationship. It's like Coach said once" a family that races together, stays together". That is as long as make sure she always finishes with a faster time.lol. That hasn't been a problem yet. Hell I was worried that she would be scared of it and I'd get to drive it more. WRONG! Boy did that plan backfire. Thanks.

If that's your wife's grocery getter, should I even ask how fast your car is?
