Default Lets get a pool going on Colonels new car/motor

I say we get a nice little pool going on how much power Colonels car will make as well as what it will run on the first full all out pass. Any takers?

Hmmm with greater than 950 lift and greater than 280 duration...I would think 700-800 on motor....9.40's.

This should be interesting but I'm NOT even going to guess.

BTW, I think we should have some dyno figures today. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

Can I have half the pool to help pay for this thing? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Actually, the engine was running last Thursday. Its the rest of the car that was the issue (cage, interior, brakes, battery, alignment, rearend gears, axles, etc...)

699.99 rwhp <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> / 550 rwtq You can round the power up if you want. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

First all out pass without complications

9.0000 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" /> @ 148 mph

Not to sound negative, but I wouldn't expect anything TOO wild for the first pass. A High winding Mill like this makes the converter Key. It will take stall adjustment once at a minimum, maybe 2-3 times to get the AWESOME ETs. 9s are definetly a strong possibility, but 9.0s? No offense, but not a chance on the first pass <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Good luck Stephen.. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

688hp/571tq, 9.179et @ 147.4mph, first full on no complication run. If it is a pool, is it multi-stage? Like closest to HP, TQ, ET and MPH or what? If you keep closest without going over sounds like Terry might be on for the "first run" j/k.

Charlie.

My post and the 9.0000 was a joke since he's shooting for 8's. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

I have no clue what this motor will be capable of but, I'm sure it's gonna set records. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I am hoping for better than 9.40. All motor pass oh and what is your race weight? Have a bet with buddy that a all motor car can run better than 9.60. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

I don't think the ignition will be a problem. It fires and runs just fine. Sounds pretty wicked at 16:1 even through the bullets. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

2FAST4U, you'll win your bet. 9.6s are going to be common for NA LS1s by this time next year. Judson ran 9.7s at BR. I ran 9.8s with a hydraulic cammed street engine. 9.6s will be cake with this new setup.

I agree with KTamez that getting the most out of this combo is going to be very particular. I think the two most important things will be getting the right converter and getting the suspension setup correctly. I need to be able to consistantly and safely pull low 1.3s-high 1.2 60 fts. I don't think getting the rearend gearing just right will be too hard. We'll know how high she'll pull from the dyno. A little track testing will tell us what kind of MPH to gear for.

No way a high reving engine like this is going to make more TQ than HP. I like your optimism though! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Colonel, I don't know how common 9.60's out of a NA LS1 will be this time next year. I'm sure there will a few cars doing it, but by no means do I think it will be common. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
