Default Gaskets/Headbolts for an LS1

OK, I know this subj has probbaly been beaten to death, but I need some help on this. I am going to be doing the heads/cam/intake on my 00 SS vert when I get back from Iraq next month. So obviously I need some gaskets, head bolts etc. Where is the best place that I can order them on line, and some place that is not going to clean my wallet out.... Any help on this subj is greatly appreciated. Oh, I will be installing a set of Absolute Stage II's an LSX intake and the cam specs are in my sig. Thanks.

We at Scoggin Dickey try hard to get our customers the parts they need for a great price. We have gasket & bolt kits listed on our web site for LS1's, along with many other parts. If you don't find what you are looking for just PM me and I will get you all the correct gaskets & bolts at a super price!!

You should use factory graphite gm head gaskets. And for bolts, factory works fine, I used ARP head bolts with out any problems. Just make sure you get those bolt threads in the block VERY clean.

I got an email back from GM parts direct and the price they gave me was $171.00 for a head gasket kit???? That seems a little expensive for just a set of gaskets to me. I guess it would help if they would include a pic of what exactly is it though......
kjsdpc, will shoot you a PM. Thanks

The Cometic gaskets are good. You can get them in any thickness you want, so you can raise or lower compression a little bit. They normally cost around $70.00 each.

You can get both shipped for under $80 at sdpc2000.com. They are a sponsor on the right.

thanks, I tried to access the sdpc website, but it wouldnt come up for me. With these heads, my compression is going to be 11.0.1 I believe. Will try and access the site again. I just cant see spending $170.00 on a set of gaskets. I am not trying to be cheap, but damn......

For heads/cam/intake/exhaust... your going to be around the 200 range for all the gaskets and bolts. That is ALOT of work and ALOT of gaskets if you havent checked it out yet. I'd suggest Thunder racing for heads/headers stuff right nwo seeing they are the cheapest place for today (Friday The 13th) And get them ordered. I'd also suggest getting your Cam package from them as well seeing its on sale as well and includes the gaskets needed for the install. So all your left with is 8 needed gaskets for the intake. They arent to costly from sdpc2000.com so I would try and get those as well. So Thunder Racing and sdpc200.com would probably be the two best and cheapest routes if you buy TODAY! So goodluck and hopefully I saved you a few bucks!
