I had a buddy tell me that I should keep the car in 3 instead of D for the 1/4 mile run to keep the RPMs up and stay in the powerband? I have a TPS and MSD WS 3000 and 6000 RPM modules. Any thoughts or experiences?
Also my tuner told me when I got LS1 edit that manual shifting on an A4 would not help due to edit changing the shift points etc, but did not tell me I should not leave the car in 3 for running the 1/4. Again any thoughts experiences?
Thanks

Call a shop like MTI. I bet they could tell you. I know you shouldn't manually shift. These electrinically controled trannies shift fast then you could. Even expirimented with it and was consitently faster letting the car shift on its own. Of course my shift points were changed when my car was tuned.

It doesn't matter if it's in D or OD. You're still going to cross the finish line in 3rd with stock gearing.
Don't manually shift 4L60-Es. NOT good for them. If you need to change the shift points, do it with programming.

Too easy, I am getting tuned again with the N2O on the dyno so should be good. Thanks for the help Sir
