Question cutout question

i have a flowmaster muffler on my 2000 z28, i know is not the best butit was free, i was wondering if i get a cutout for it, would i see any gains at all, would it compare to other exhaust systems???and where would it be the best palce to installed

lid, tb bypass, ported maf, headers, 3 "" y pipe, 224/224 cam, stage 2 heads

With the cutout open, you will see and here a difference in power and sound. I would put the cutout after the y-pipe. I have heard if you put the cutout on the bend before the pipe goes in the muffler, you might get more power there. Not sure why?

i put mine here http://www.stealthram.com/qtpcutout.html and i gained 13/13 over the stock formula exhauxt. another guy with an SS the same day i dynoed only gained 2 rwhp over the SS exhaust.

because bends cost power. the more turns it makes, the slower it goes. also, exhaust moves faster the hotter the pipes are. so, the further away you are from the engine, the cooler the pipes will be and the slower the exhaust flows.

The straighter the exhaust dumps out, the more power you'll get!
