Question Upgrade cam what else should I do?

My Z28 isn't a daily driver anymore so I've decided my old MMS224 cam just isn't enough and that a TREX looks to meet my goals This winter I plan to swap one in, but what else should I consider doing at the same time? I know my pistons will have to be flycut because my heads have been milled.
Currently my rev limiter is set 6800 and at the track I do launch at ~6700 and powershift at 6400. The car has about 38K miles on it and close to 200 passes. It has increased the amount of oil lost this year and is back up to about a quart every 3k miles which it used to do, but the other pvc valve fixed for awhile.

I'd like to keep the cost down but not at the expense of huge chance of breaking things. So what would be suggested? New rods? Bearings? Rings? Are these all good ideas or overkill, anything else I should consider? I was also going to have a local shop flow test my heads and maybe work on them because I think nearly 4 year old MMS port can be done better these days.
