Default Stock heads with what cam and headers?

I will finally get back to doing mods to my car. Ran into a few problems like my alternator, water pump, power steering, clutch and tranny. New clutch gets ordered in about two weeks and tranny shipped out to rebuild. After I get tranny back and new clutch in I'm going for the headers and cam. Looking for something with nice power under the curve. I like to autox, hit the 1/4 mile once in a while and drive as a daily driver. I will mostly likely keep my N20 wet kit. I'm shooting 75. What set ups do you stock heads guys have and the numbers with them? I've done some research but would like to collectively see about 7 to 8 different setups so I can start figuring out what I'm going to order. Post up the cam and the valvetrain you've upgraded to. Post the numbers and drivabilty. I want something you can easily hear that is not stock, but I don't want a wild cam that is going to get me upset when in traffic.

well, for a daily driver, anything from a 224-228 duration should be right nice and not too hard to tame for idling and daily driveability. i think u will find if u are gonna continue spraying, u might wanna pick a cam with an exhaust duration higher than the intake duration....to compensate for the extra juice ur pumpin in as far as headers, i couldnt be happier with my pacesetters....couldnt be happier with the price either they all pretty much flow equally from what ive seen. i know jet hot and qtp make some of the best headers from what ive read on the board. anyway, with the right tuning, u should be good to go staying with a moderate cam and long tubes. good luck man...let us know how it goes

Thanks. Spraying would be for the 1/4 mile only and that is an hour drive as it is. I do more autoxing. I will keep in mind what you said about exhaust and intake duration. Thanks again!

http://www.vincihighperformance.com/...%20LS1%202.htm the 047 will be a good choice. makes loads of torque. after i have VHP install their CNC heads, i'll either put that one or the 055 cam in the wife's car. still deciding.

i just bought a comp 220/224 .530/.534 112 lsa and a set of jet hot headers, i was in the same boat as you, daily driver etc, for me i think this is gonna be the best package, you might find it working for you as well. I have not put them in, but you will need to buy the $429 kit from comp with hi perf push rods, titanium retainers, and perf valve springs with any cam you get or a similar kit whichever brand you prefer. Although the cam requires cpu tuning you can get by without it until you get around to coming up with the $$ for it. GOOD LUCK! 00 ws6 m6

I went with the Comp 224 XER 224/.581/112 and a set of Stainless Works headers with the catted Y pipe. Car runs great!
