Default What octane are you high compression guys running...

What octane gas are you guys running at the track and what is your compression ratio? I am running 11.75 in a 346 H & C motor, what gas should I use?

I have 11.1 compression and I run sunoco 104 unleaded racing fuel. <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />

What kind of octane should you run? It depends on your compression ratio and timing. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Good luck to ya. <img border="0" alt="[angel]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_angel.gif" />

Also depends on your timing...

I am supposed to be around 12:1, with 26 degrees of timing and I run 100/93 mix.

Once I was 11.5:1 and ran VP CSP (96.6 motor octane.)

Then I was 12.2:1 and ran VP Motorsport 103 (99 motor octane.)

Now I'm 16:1 and I'll be running VP C14+ (115 motor octane.)

How much difference do your cars run on the street and 93 octane pump gas? How much do you change the timing for 93 octane gas?

Can you run leaded and unleaded gas mixed? Will this kill the O2 sensors? On my last car I ran at least 100 passes with mixed gas and the O2s were fine.

When I was running on the street I didn't change the timing that much. I richened the mixture up from .850mv to .920 or so. Yes, that lowered the timing a little. Maybe from 31 degrees down to 28 or so.

In order to run leaded can I simply remove the cats and O2's or is their more to it than that?

What are the positives and negatives of running leaded fuel.
