Gap is only shortened as a preventative method to illiminate plug "blow off" under extreme cylinder pressures and therefore missfires.

I have mine gapped at .040 and have a slight surging feel while I'm spraying sometimes (TNT F1). I thought it might be from "blow off", but if people have run with the stock gap without a problem I'm guessing thats not my issue.
