Default ssf 3500 owners I got a quick question?

I just recieved my ssf3500 from thunder racing and on the box it says that the flywheel has to be drilled, but i do not recall ant one saying anything about that. my question is , Did any of you have to drill your flywheel for your TC to fit? Thanks. I can not wait to get it on the car.

I installed 1 in a 01' Firebird. The only prob I had is I think the converter may have diffrent threads than the stock bolts, or they had paint in the holes. They were hard to start but they went all the way in.

I believe that warning is there because the converter housing fits multiple transmissions to which you need to modify the holes. The 4L60E doesn't require this mod though.
I remember reading this somewhere on TCI's site but I can't find it now.
As for the stock bolts not fitting, my converter came with new bolts.

mine came with 3 new bolts 2 of them fit just fine but the 3rd bolt hole in the flexplate was an elliptical shape. I just used a tap set to make the hole round.

franny40,
You will have to drill one of you flexplate holes. As stated above, two holes are round, the other hole is elliptical. You can drill it with a 1/2" bit and you'll be good to go.
