I'm new to the site and really impressed with this forum. I have a 1997 C5 in which i will be taking the LS1 and putting it in a kit car i've been working on. I want to pump up the power to maybe 500 hp. Can anyone recommend a site or reputable place in the South East? What type of modification would you recommend? I want to drive this car mainly for the street and limited track use. Thanks! Freytag

What about Zr1?
The ZR-1 got its model designation from the "ZR-1'' option package, which added $27,016-$31,683 to the standard Corvette hardtop's list price -- making it the most expensive auto option in Chevy history.

I have added an Automotive Glossary (http://www.lswon.com/modules/wordbook/) to my website to make it easy for people to search the following:
General Automotive Terms
RPO Codes
OBDII codes
If you can't find what you're looking for, or you think theres something that should belong in the glossary, you can submit an entry, and I'll have it posted for you as soon as possible.

search page would be a good place to go
about the LS1 and LSX, im not sure what you mean, but the the "LSX" is an intake manifold made by FAST, three piece design and larger airflow with about an $800 price tag, not worth the money for the extra what 4-5HP over the LS6 manifold with goes for about $400, and the LS6 manifold comes stock on the 01 and 02 fbody models, the LS1 manifold has a smaller runners and has a provision for EGR the LS6 and LSX do not, but some companies will make a hole for the EGR
or are you asking about engine designation where people write "LSx" which only means the LS-series motors: LS1, LS2, LS6, LS7
hopefully that explained it

DSM = Diamond Star Motors, also known as Mitsubishi.
It actually refers to a joint effort between Mitsubishi and Chrysler to build cars. This joint venture ended up producing the Eagle Talon, Mitsubishi Eclipse, and Plymouth Laser. DSM cars were assembled in Normal, Illinois. The '94-and-up Mitsubishi Galant is also assembled at the DSM plant in IL. Diamond-Star Motors was officially dissolved in 1993 after the design and production tooling for the 1994 and 1995 cars was complete. Mitsubishi Motors continues to operate the plant formerly responsible for DSM cars under sole ownership. Suprised nobody picked up on this.

What does CETA stand for.. I know which piece it is just not sure what it stands for. Did a google search and got about 20 random results, none having anything to do with cars. Searched this thread and didn't see it up there

CETA stands for Commemorative Edition Trans Am. Its the yellow/black cars, they have the lower rear bumper painted black from the factory, hence why people call it the "CETA mod" when you paint the lower rear bumper.
