Default powerglide questions .

Sup guys , I have a '99 S10 Xtreme single cab thats gonna have an APE 408 complete motor with an F1 procharger . The goals are to make around 750rwhp . I was thinking because my truck in very light in the back its gonna be dificult to hook ( even with slicks ) on 11-12 inch tires . So i was thinking an 1.76 first gear from a powerglide might help me alot anto it doesn't rob much hp neither like the th400 . My truck would be around 3400 lbs (yeah i know PG likes lighter cars ) but in my case it might help me .
What do you guys think . I need something that can handle the power easy and isn't that expensive .
Thanx

I'm at 3300 with a glide, 1.80 1st gear, 3.70 rear gear. So far we haven't had a problem w/ traction on a 28x10.5W tire. Getting the chute on the car so we can head back and make some more passes at higher boost on the launch.

Last time out I was told to get a chute before I come back

cool ,y2khawk what stal converter do you have ? I see rossler have a powerglide with 1.82 gears made for smallblock for only $695 . Does that sound right ? Do you have all the billet parts in yours and stuff like that ? I know a simple powergliode would be more then enough for me but later i would like to use that same trans for my next project . Can you give a little more specs on your trans ? Did you had to use a spacer on your fly or torque conver or you had a special made converter to fit your motor ?
A little out of topic , do you have any special top coatings on your piston or on the skirts ?
thanx

My trans is pretty much indestructible Same unit, minus Dedenbear case and upgraded input shaft used in the Livernois 7 sec mustang. Not your average trans

What power does rossler rate his glide to?

My converter is a Chance 2 piece pro-mod 10.5", stalls about 3000/3200 off boost. 4300 or so at 8 psi on the brake. It was made to fit my combo, LS1 pump snout length +.250 for my mid plate.

Pistons are JE boost slugs, teflon coated skirts, no top coating.

I don't know how much hp the rossler powerglide are rated . He has some PG to handle big power but the price goes up too . I would like to know how oem 1.76 gears will hold and not so exotic parts like yours .
