High Schooler gets a lesson in V8s So the Woodward Dream Cruise has pretty much begun.
I headed down there tonight, shot the **** with a couple guys for a while. Yadda, yadda, and headed home.
Cruising up Woodward, I end up in a pack including a younger looking dude in a first gen DSM (Talon - like it matters). Once he sees me, he starts doing everything he could to goat me into a race. At one point in time, he mashed the accelerator (I think... it was kinda hard to tell, he didn't move very fast...) and started weaving in and out of all the cars that were on the road. He got hung up by a light and we ended up next to each other, so he started at it again
. Well, this time we were at the front of the pack, but after the scare I had last weekend, I still wasn't about to open it up on Woodward, even if the kid needed a lesson real bad. I just hoped that he was going the same direction I was - to I-75. Sure enough 
it was time to teach him a lesson. We got on the connecting ramp (3 lanes), and I was coming up to him at about 65. When I got to his back bumper, he gunned it. I think. Again, it was hard to tell. At any rate, through third gear I reeled him in, even, behind, and put a car on him, and then as soon as I went in to fourth, I began to punish him. Hard. I stayed in it until about 110 or so when he was several bus lengths to my rear. 
I just can't imagine the thoughts running through his naive mind when he heard the LS1 through the headers, ORY, and Corsa, while I took off on him like I was shot out of a gun. 
However, I did notice in my rearview mirror some headlights that were behind me that seemed to be keeping up rather well.
It turned out to be a second generation red Corvette. We got on I-75 and the Corvette pulls up even with me, and I watch the DSM make a stupid move across three lanes to get even with me on the other side. GO!!!! The Vette surprised me a tad, as the guy held his own while I was in third gear. (The Talon instantly became a spec in the mirror to both of us, by the way ) Through third gear, I had stretched to a 1/2 car lead. As soon as I put it in fourth, it got pretty ugly. I pulled and pulled on him, until I hit the top of fourth, with about 2 and 1/2 cars seperating us.
Where was the Talon? ...Only preparing the meanest most bad-assest rcier fly by EVER, dawg!!!!! Yo cHeCk It ouT BrO I hiT da NawwwZZz anD it WAs All OveR, Yo I RapED that V8 liKe it WaS NO One's BizNASS...

haha...ricer fly by's are funny. especially when they're too scared to ever slow back down n get stomped again, so they keep flyin til they THINK they're safe...haha. nice kills!

I cant STAND ricers fly by's. I usually dont let it happen when someone is trying it. I just downshift and keep going when I see him coming close for the fly by. Damn ricers!

there is a remedy to the ricer fly-by. i tried this one mid day sunday....try 2nd gear doing just under 60 mph. its funny to see them trying their ricer fly-by and you catch back up to them pretty quickly and blow their doors off again...

Next time use the vette and other traffic to help box in the ricer flyby and see if you can get him to do something really stupid.
