Default How do you tell bad springs?

I remember reading about a bad batch of springs that came out (918s). Is there a way to tell if they were from that bad batch. I have a box that has been sitting in my garage for awhile. I haven't opened them yet, they are still wrapped in the plastic. A buddy of mine wants to buy them but is concerned about that bad batch. I've had them for a while but less than a year. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Mike

Is there any way to tell without opening the box? Like a production run # on the outside, etc?

You'll need a valve spring tester. You can get one at the links below. Just look at the mfg'r info on the spring pressure. It's really simple. Or, you can call the mfgr and tell them what you have.
