Default What are the fastest track times.

What are that fastest 1/4 mile times people can run with the stock 10 bolt rear? Im trying to see how fast I can go before I have to upgrade the rear. I plan on getting a 12-bolt enevtually, but there not cheap, so I wanted to put it off until I approach the limits of the stock one. Thanks

Sean Freese (Fastech) was running 10.30s a few years ago with one.

The limits of the stock rear seems to be largely dependent on luck. The Firehawk blew the stock rear and it's best time so far is a 13.1. The only mods done to it were McLeod clutch, cutout, FTRA, and drag radials. Just because the rear lasted for someone running in the 10's, doesn't mean it will for you. You'll have a better chance of it lasting if you're an A4, but I've seen some automatics that are mid-12 cars break the 10-bolt while others are still on the stock rear and running mid 11's.

I run 7.38's in the 1/8th on a stock 10 bolt, i havent ran the 1/4 in awile so dont want to mislead you. I am running a A4 with 3200 vig. As posted to above, this is a little easier, but it has held up fine. Something tells me though that Santa is brining me a 12 bolt this year..

Full weight (plus a little, about 4000 lbs race weight) 2000 Camaro, auto, 3.23 gear 10 bolt (stud kit, synthetic fluid, preload cover) and ran a 10.86 on 17 inch drag radials with a 1.59 short time. No problems with rear so far.

I know a few local guys that have run in the mid 10's on stock 10bolts on slicks, but they are A4 cars. With a M6, you won't get very far although I know a couple that were running mid to low 11's on nittos with M6's. Just depends on your luck and whether or not you have an A4/M6.
