Called out by this kid with a 5.slow Mustang. It's a Fox body, probably around a 92' or so. My friend got a call with one of this guys buddies asking what I think my car would run. My friend replied something around a high 13. Everyone in the background started to yell and laugh and call b.s. The guy that wants to race me claims to have run a 13.8 on slicks at our track. Everyone I've talked to says he ran around a 14.4-14.6 on slicks, which is more believable based on his mods. His 5.0 has shorty headers, an x-pipe and no cats, a new exhaust back from the x, 3.73 gears, a new air intake, and a computer chip. This guy thinks he can beat me. He'll be running street tires when we race, but I will easily take him from a roll or the line. I just wanted to post because this was bugging me. Hopefully he'll race me soon and I can post my kill.

Intake, Exsaust and chip. Wow. He might be making as much as a stock LT1 now

I dunno, with the 3.73s and the slicks, he might actually get a small jump on you off the line, he is significantly lighter. Maybe.

Funny you say that. He was dead even with my buddy's stock LT1 from a roll. He WILL take me off the line with or without slicks, but I will catch him so fast. 2.3 60' with the tires I have.

You'll eat him alive. My 5.0 is cammin and I could take a stock LS1, that's about it. You'll need to baby that launch if you want to walk him hard though.

Taping a modded LS1 vs a lightly modded 5.0???? Waste of tape IMO. Waste of gas racing him too unless he juices it.

I'm going to tape it. The only way he'll win is if he has secretly added some spray or has done some other very major mods. I want to do it from a 5mph roll. With the elevation here, the LS1 just doesn't have the power to break the tires loose.

umm, you sure about not having power to break the tires loose? My freaking jetta can break the tires, from a 5 mph roll, and I am sure it is good for no more than low 17's ...

**** i'll tape it for u, it pisses me off that he is so convinced that he could take u. After i raced him he wouldn't even talk to me. Remember that he thought he could take kevin's STi? Thats the same day that i raced him. I just find it amazing that so many people think that his car is so fast. From what i heard he ran a 14.7 on street, 14.3 on slicks, and that came from him. Smoke him.

Elevation man. It does weird things with the breaking the tires loose on the low end on dry pavement. I have yet to drive a car here that'll do it. A clutch dump will always take care of that too. If you get me some slick or wet pavement it's a whole different story.


As for an update. I can't find this guy or get a hold of him, kinda sucks but of well.
