Advice on choosing converter, LS1 420BHP, TH350, 3.73's.
I'm in need of some converter help. I have been searching weeks on this forum and theres about a million posts. So far all I here is a lot of praise on TCI's SSF3500 converter which is what I have been leaning towards getting.
Anyway quick run down on vehicle, it is a short wheel base Holden 1977 model, kerb weight will be approx 1250-1300kg (2750-2850lbs).
Engine is LS1 with high flowing exhaust, LS6 intake and either 02 LS6 Camshaft or Comp 220/0.560" 113LSA something capable of 420-430HP at flywheel with stock heads.
Engine is being run up on engine dyno in 2 days time so will know definitely HP, TQ and which cam we decided on, will post graph as well to help with converter choice.
Trans is Manual Valve TH350, Shift Kit etc.
Rear will have either 3.55-3.73:1 gearing and the usual 24-6" tyres, 245-255 rears.
I'm all ears to your thoughts, advice and experience.
Car will be driven almost every weekend and see the strip a few times a year. So need soemthing nice and efficient.

Hi,
It sounds like your car is going to fly. You'll have a good HP to Weight ratio. As torquey as your engine will be, you won't need a high stall speed converter. A 3500 will be perfect for your application. We can build it to bolt directly to your flexplate and have the proper pilot length for your LS1 engine. You can order a part number 241002 and specify to have the LS1 pilot length and bolt pattern on it. You can call Scotty here at TCI, his direct number is (662)224-9344. There is no core required. The price will be around $520 + shipping. Scotty can give you a more exact number.
Thanks!
Kevin

Would I be better off using 241022 then 241002 as I don't plan on using NOS.
Also what converter is more efficient for my setup, Street Fighter or Super Street Fighter?
I've never driven in a lightweight car with high stall, will this be a very tight converter due to lightweight?
