I know alot of the big inch guys want a 3500lb class in Modified Stock that they fit in. If there was such a class who of you would enter it and do you think 380 ci should be the deviding point??? If you would like the deviding point changed post to the thread and tell us where and why.

I think it should be move up to 390 being the breaking point. Since the lt1s don't have the big bore option at this point all we could do is run a 360ci(60over). Unless we got crazy with stroke ratios. 390 seems like a good even middle of the road break so the 383-388 stroker motors could run with the stock cubes. But..I will run whatever lines up beside me

Without the option of a block that will go to around 4.100 you guys would be out in the cold.

I would like a 346 modified class. If someone spends the mony to go big.Go big why would it be fair to race a 346 against a 383?Lets seee George runs a 383 and he is all motor.
make it a 355 ci limit. That way LT1 guys are included.

Look at the numbers of heads/cam only guys out there. If you keep it close to stock 346" we will be more likely to race.

If I have a heads/cam car and get my ass handed to me by a heads/cam car so be it. A larger motor is unfair IMO.
I am not saying I will not race either way. The classes should be based on THUNDER's or any other shop's customers. How many heads/cam packages have been sold? compared to motors?

OK say we set it at 355ci... What about the guys with 383's??? Would it be fair for them to race 432's??? The only alternative is to P&G every car that is entered and set a pound per cubic inch rule. And I promise you that you would not like that. Some of the biggest arguments and fights I've ever seen was at Modified/Gas combo meets in the 60's and 70's using this format.

I also think that in the event of a protest, if the car is found legal, he should be paid tear-down money.
What about a weight break for steel block cars??
Has everyone forgot about 3rd gens? Why aren't they included in the events??

IMO a class needs to be <362ci because you can't go more than .060 over in an LT1 and IMO I would not want to a race a 346-362ci against a 388SR big bore LS1.

If you spend the cash to build a bottom end and only build a 382 or whatever that is your choice. Givin it is possible for smaller cu. in to be as fast.
The $ figure is the difference in heads/cam cars and 382's or so. I know there could be fully built 346' cars out there(i know a few for a fact) it still seems a little more fair.
I am just speaking from the heads/cam perspective. I am not asking to have rules around my car. Just pure quantity of heads/cam cars should make a class.

im confused...
if i was to engrave "LS1" on at least one of my 572's valve covers, would i be considered a ls1?
which calss would that put me in?

just joking.....
i think 380 even would be a good cut off...money becomes an issue at about that point for some people.
