new verter = no traction... Please Help!
Just got my new verter installed and i see what you guys were talking about its a 3200 2.0str. My only other mods are lid w/k&n, 160stat, hpp3. And already i am having problems with traction. I have on crappy 235/55 16 tires that the previous owner had on the car (yea he was dumb), but i plan to go with 555r nittos very soon. My question is how the hell do i get off the line? I just sit and make smoke now. I know the drags will help, but wont i still just spin when i stomp it from a stop? I am ordering nittos and torque arms soon but what else do i need , or need to do differently to get the car moving? thanks in advance

The biggest fastest tires seem to help alot! It tamed mine down, and I can get on it pretty hard. The stock tires did the same, just smoked, and I only got a 2800 stall.

Hopefully I will be picking up my car today. I got a tci 3800 competion, .7s and a shift kit installed along with a trans cooler, deep transmission pan, and trans temp gauge. I have nitto drs on the car so hopefully I won't be spinning like crazy but I already can spin them through through all of first with my mods before the verter. Looks like I'll probablly be purchasing some suspension parts tomorrow.

Get some tires and some LCA's. You won't need a torque arm for a while, and that money would be better spent elsewhere in the suspension. Don't worry about your rear-end either, it won't break.
Also, if you don't have SFC's, get some... soon.

I have a 2800 stall converter and on street tires and could destroy my tires up to about 75 mph doing nothing but flooring it. Nitto's made a hell of a difference. I still spin the tires but nothing like before.
