Default Do the oil pressure sending units ever lose their accuracy

over time?

I was just curious if they lost their accuracy over time, say 100K miles?

I had one lose its mechanical integrity and spooge
oil all over my engine bay. But this was on a '68
SBC motor and the sender was over 35 years old.
The Bakelite plastic just crumbled.

Good question. I just replaced mine after snapping it off on an intake swap and now I see higher pressure readings at part throttle and WOT.

I don't think that they are accurate even off the shelf.
