What would cause a P0506 code?
This afternoon my car started running really rough at idle; to the point where it seems like it's going to stall. I check the code and it was P0506 - Idle Control System RPM Lower Than Expected.
This past Tuesday I accidentally installed my MAFT incorrectly. The owners manual states that doing this can ruin the MAF sensor. However, after I disconnected the MAFT I checked the MAF frequency and everything seemed normal. Could this code be a delayed result of installing the MAFT incorrectly or is it something else?
Thanks,
Jim

O.K. - I just checked the Sticky titled "Detailed Diagnostic info for LS1." It indicates that this code will be set if the Intake Air Control Valve is not operating properly. Tomorrow I'll reset the PCM and see what happens.
Feel free to comment if anyone has any other suggestions.
Thanks,
Jim

Sounds like a bad IAC. Unless you accidently unplugged it while you were working right next to it...or snagged one of the wires and messed it up. Check all the wires, and make sure it is plugged in properly.
