:eek2: is it possible with a head/cam, intake and exaust combo to reach the 11s? or do you have to go with the stroker kit?

Easily. I've even seen 10's.
There is someone with a stock internal 10 sec vette IIRC.
No cam, no heads.
And bolt-ons generally means stock internals.
There are quite a few people with stock internal LS1's with only bolt-ons (stock cam and heads) in the 11's. 60+ I think. Go to the drag racing section and look for yourself.

Definately possible
it all depends on how you want to go about it and how deep into the 11's your looking at; weight reduction, dialed in suspension, and sticky tires go along way.

Slicks and more than likely an upgraded rear-end after your first few runs...yeah.

Headers..$500-$800. You can pick up the headers in the complete kit with ORY
Heads..$1300-$......Endless just depends how you want to spend your $$

The Hooker Cat-back is a decent choice at 289 bucks if I am correct? Any comments on this system, I am thinking about ordering it.

I sure hope one can go 11s with just bolt ons...I'm in the 12.2s right now with basically just a converter, lid, cut out, a few free mods and drag radials, hoping a set of headers/ORY will be enough to touch 11s from there.

I have seen bone stock 01-02 LS1's go low 12's with a good driver and stock tires. With full bolt ons LID, Ported TB, Headers & cat-back, w/ tune & Drag radials, 11's are possible.

Low 12's? I am hesitant to believe that, high 12's is more likely.
Get a 12 bolt my friend!

I have seen bone stock 01-02 LS1's go low 12's with a good driver and stock tires.
It probably was not bone stock then.
The quickest a bone stock LS1 F-body has ever gone was roughly a high 12.7 I think (never confirmed) but 12.8s have definitely been accomplished on more than one occasion.
A bone stock LS1 C5 hardtop has gone 12.6s as well.
Low 12s bone stock is virtually impossible.

I live in Texas, so at baytown, good times are seen due to being at sea level. If you werre looking to make an 11 second car. Take the advise about the 12 bolt, and everything else that is needed to keep anything from breaking. It really makes a difference at the track, plus it helps to have a clear mind when running down the track.

Post proof or back off this statement please.

"Bone stock" means as it came from GM....and that means NO low 12s. :bs:

I agree when dealing with a 6 speed but what about with an auto...I'm looking to just get into the high, high 11s with a small converter, drag radials only and with the stock 3.23 10 bolt, I'm hoping I can still get away with the stock rear if I'm careful enough.
So far I've seen 1.66/1.67 sixty foots and they might drop down to low 1.6s soon possibly, can a stock 10 bolt survive that in a relatively light, lower powered bolt on car on radials?
Get a better converter, a cam, and all bolt ons and you'll be in the 11's easy.
3.23 geared 10 bolt would survive the carnage.
