That's what I hear.

Personally, I hesitate to share certain stories, since I cannot definitively prove that the other person was racing. For instance, a black SL500 crawled on my rear this morning, and came alongside. I got into the throttle slowly to pull away, then he matched my speed. Then I went WOT, and left him for good. Was he racing me? Was he just trying to pass me? was he just trying to see what I would do? Did he start to race & change his mind?

I have no idea. Because of things like that, I will only relate events in which there is no doubt that a race was occuring: a verbal challenge, for instance.

[EDIT: I just realized I never answered your question. From what I already know of you, I'd believe it you said you beat him.]

If I had your car and came across one, I would have pushed his button until we had raced. I've only seen one on the road.

Do I even need to answer that? I wouldn't be much of a street racing moderator now would I if I didn't.

So how did the GT fair against you? Did you spray him?

So when did YOU race the GT?
It's the street and anything can happen, like the title says.
Unit's not at that much a disadvantage.

Not quite. I could probably take a GT-40 on the highway. I'd love to get the opportunity to try.

Well....what happened?

My guess is from a roll the race was close but you edged him out slightly.

Am I right or did I miss it?

Come on Dan....tell us.

Alright, here's the deal...

I was on the way to the Dream Cruise and I saw the GT ahead of me. It was bumper to bumper traffic. The guy was driving like a madman (who wouldn't in that thing) so I figured he'd be game to rum 'em. I followed him for 15 miles trying to find room to race. The guy was a complete tool. I don't think he's even familiar with street racing. Every time I'd pull up next to him he'd gun it. I tried coercing (sp?) him to back off of it a bit, but he and his be-i-itch just couldn't figure it out. I played his game a little. I pulled up next to him and went WOT spraying a 75shot (100rwhp/150rwtq). I think he figured it out at that point. Still, he wouldn't line 'em up.

Finally, I got pissed off. At around 50mph he hammered it and got a 2 or 3 car jump on me. I rev matched and downshifted into 2nd. I caught him at the top of 3rd gear and put 2 cars on him by the middle of 4th gear. That's one dead GT.

Like I said, anything can happen on the street. Properly driven that car should hand me my ***. The guy was a loser so I don't know what he was doing behind the wheel.

...and for the record, the GT is unreal. I could literally feel the power when he floored it. He must've hit 140mph weaving in and out of traffic. The car handled it with ease.

An acquaintence of mine ordered one too. I'm sure I'll take it for a spin here and there.

I wonder if he was going ***** out though? I've heard traps of 130mph bone stock, but I highly doubt it. I've never been able to hook a 75shot at the track so I'm not sure what my trap speed would be. I would estimate 125mph or so. I'm 3,840lbs and I've heard the GT is a tank too. Maybe that's all it had???

Well, seeing the car does 0-60 in the mid-low 3's (Enzo, Mac F1 territory) and does the 1/4 in the mid-11's, I'd say that guy couldn't drive. It should've been much closer than it was. Unit, what do you run anyways?

I don't know what his times are but I think he is running (or capable of running) low 11's or high 10's.

*edit* Good run Dan! You have been doing pretty good on the street lately.

Like I said, I don't know what the car runs on the 75shot. I've blown the tires away so badly I aborted each pass. I recently ran 11.29 @ 123mph with a smaller shot and I cut it off short before the finish line. I can handle mid 11's. That's no problem. ET's mean nothing on the street from a roll. It's all about the trap speed (power).

Just Nitto 315's. I can't run a slick yet. The stock IRS will I need to do a live axle swap first.
