Default Best H/C combo for a built 408ci???????

I am looking around for a better H/C package for my 408. What are the best H/C for a 408. I know to get a bigger cam and some 6.0L heads but which ones?
(Current Setup)--->
6.0L iron KCM 408ci, Patriot Stage II 5.3L heads-shaved 15 thous.,TR227

I would call Patriot Performance and see if they will produce a 4.00 bore stage two ls6 head with the race port hand finish job. They will also sell you a custom grind cam for your 408.

Hoew much did this setup dyno?? I am in the same boat as you, I have a 408 with Absolute Speed Stage 2 heads that are choking my motor. My cam is bigger than yours, 236/242 .598/.610 114+4. Mine put down 454 rwhp and 460 rwtq on motor today and 528 rwhp and 573 rwtq on a 50 shot. I just want to see how mine compares with others that are close to mine.

My A4-built 4l60e, 3400 stall-dynoed 391 rwhp and 440 rwtq but it is back in the shop, 3 of the pushrods have groves cut in them like the rocker arms are walking on them....also the rocker arms are hitting the spring its self.....the car is getting re dynoed next week...so hopefully I will see some more power after things gets figured out.....I really think some Stage III 6.0L heads will really wake it up though. Are your heads 5.3L? and are they milled?

My heads are 5.7 heads and they are milled. I am hoping as well that some 6.0 liter heads will really wake mine up as well.

Here's a good one with some relevent tech:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...ighlight=scale

That first recommendation looks money, it'll support the cubes without excessive wear on the valvetrain.

your robbing your motor of a lot of power with only stage 2 heads. you need stage 3's to take full advantage of it, at least from what i hear.

I have a set of Katech LS6 heads in stock right now that you might want to take a look at These things flow crazy in the mid range & do well up top also What size chamber are you needing? Thats also a key in figuring out what head to run. Give me a call & we can see what chamber you need & we can look at all the different options.

I'd love to get those Katech heads from you but the old budget is kinda drained (for now ). As for chamber size, I dont really know. I just want some high flowing heads (Stage III i guess )that wont bottle neck a 4.030 Bore, also I have inverted dome pistons with a depth of .105. As for my cam options, they seem to get narrower the more aggressive I want to go. With an A4 I am not wanting to go with a 112 LSA. I've had a 112 with the hotcam when my car was a cam only, and I hated it. My car hated it to, I had all kinds of computer problems with the traction control. And once I switched to a 114 all were gone. Can you get a T-Rex "style" cam with a 114 or 113?
