Default How much louder with headers

I am considering QTP headers and catted y-pipe this winter. I am wondering how much louder my car will be. I drive the car everyday for work in the summer. I like the sound now and do not want headers if it will be much louder. I have a Hooker cat-back now with the rest of the system stock.

Thanks for the input!!

http://www.ls1sounds.com/Hooker/hooker_kooks_cats.mp3

This is hooker with Kooks headers and cats. Kooks and QTP headers shouldn't be that much different. In the words of "JRP" use the search feature !

I appreciate the link. I have been to ls1 sounds before. It is hard to make a judgement based on a sound clip though. I was just looking for first hand experience from someone that had a hooker catback and added the headers and catted y-pipe. The difference in loudness between the two is what I am after.

I did search but did not find this specifically addressed.

hooker is similar to magnaflow, you can hear my LT' catted setup in sig. it was a very civil setup.

It is louder, but only slightly. Screams like hell at WOT. Do what I did go to an F-body gathering/Dyno day, and ask someone w/headers to take you for a ride in their car. Then you can judge for yourself.

I had a flowmaster when I added my Longtubes. My car was actually a bit quieter at start up and cruising, it seemed, it definately wasn't louder, but was deeper and smoother sounding. But it screamed at WOT. I have a Hooker catback now and you'll be pleased with it's sound and performance with the headers, I am.

You will be fine adding Headers and especially the catted Y pipe. I daily drive my car also and it fits the bill perfectly. Stick with Cats and you won't have a problem.

The Hooker really comes alive with headers, but its definitely tolerable for a daily driver.

I had a friend with no cats and a huge cam and the sound was not bad. With cats, you should not be too much louder.
