Nice looking paint on a plain white car
I'm looking for a nice looking paint job on a plain white car.
I have a white Z28 with no front grill, completely shaved/smoothed bumper, no logos anywhere, no trim, and a filled/smoothed rear panel painted black. Will also have blacked out LT1 tail lights soon, and darkened headlights soon after that.
Honestly, the car is looking kinda plain.
I want to do something with the paint.
I was thinking grey flames with some 17" gunmetal grey Z06 rims, or black hockey stick stripes (decals) with a set of stock 16" Z28 wheels powdercoated black.
Leaning towards the black hockey stick stripes, as I think the wheels would look good with them, the darkened headlights, the blacked out rear tail lights/rear panel. I'd probably put "346" logos on both sides in the space of the hockey stripes.
Also, I was considering a blue flame job with the front bumper completely blue (easy repaints, necessary for how much I drive) with thin flames spreading out from there.
I have a custom painting guy at my disposal for a very reasonable cost, but I just don't know what I want.
Anyone with any comments?
Pictures?
Ideas?

They only look good if done properly, and if they go with the scheme of the car. I'd say some cool flames would really spice it up, matched with a nice set of wheels. Good luck!

Thanks all, I think I'm gonna think on this a while. I think
I guess I'll do the light mods I have planned soon and look through more magazines and net pics until I find what I want.

I kinda like the plane white myself.
I have been thinking of doing some flames on my car also,my paint guy wants to go with something old school like white to yellow to orange to red,but im thinking something alittle more subtle.

Install a SLP ZR1 hood on the car and paint the cowl black. It will give the car whole new look.
If you like stripes, install a set of stripes on the back end. The theme of the car will be black and white from front to rear and will be tasteful and will not outdate itself (like flames etc).
I get a ton of compliments on my hood that is painted black and white (DG Motorsports hood).

I will be installing a ZR1 hood this winter.
The ZR1 hood will also give the motor a better shot of cool air (more bling, better performance).
PS. If you have unlimited funds, drop in a C5R 427. The ZR1 hood will look extra sweet with 427 emblems (or 400 HP if you've done heads/cam).
