Default ls6 in camaro???

I want to know how hard it would be to put a Z06 motor in an automatic camaro SS. The camaro is a 2000, the engine has everything but intake, and exhaust manifold? Is it worth the 3500 for the engine with 6000 miles on it?

Engine is plug and play, use your computer, exhaust etc. If it has 6000 miles that is a good price, they go for $5k+ brand new.

It should bolt right in, and then just need some minor tuning. No intake or exhaust manifolds? Great excuse to get a 78mm fast intake and some long tubes...

you will just need to remove the EGR system if you plan on buying the correct LS6 intake for it. and please dont use an LS1. there is no reason to choke a perfectly good LS6 like that.

Totally pointless swap. Use the money to put a cam and springs in your current car and make more power and save money.

for 3500, you could get heads and cam and smoke an LS6 motor. You could but down 450 to the wheels!

Perhaps his old motor is "Kaput"
In any case, if I had the dough, I would not pass a LS6 motor for that price. Great base to make even more power in the future.

exactly! if the motor is dead, then it will cost about the same for something new, maybe even a lil more! this way, he can throw a stock motor in there and be very happy for awhile!

Old motor dead = worthy swap.
Old motor working = spend your money on heads and cam.

Hi Predator-Z
Have you taken the run from Dubai to Abu Dhabi - open Highway. However I love the Speed Humps in the middle of the highway half way between the cities. Have you can open it up there? By the way I did not know of any drag ways in UAE - are there any?

Used to but too many radars now- Al AIN highway #66 is where it's at now- Ruled by 160+mph cars-Destroyed a few exotics there on nitrous.

Yeap we got one for the last 3 years at UMM AL QUWAIN (after Sharjah and Ajman on Ras El Kheima Rd.) Nothing to brag about, but it's straight, VHT prepared and overall basic I guess.

One is being built in DUBAI, IHRA specs (cost $100,000 000). That one should be ready in 2006.

Hey guys thanks for ur input, my old motor is not dead but is definately losing power, i'm not sure waht wrong between work and college and the fact that it's all i have to drive I never get a chance to take it to the shop. All I have in my area is a 1000 ft track and I was running 10.8 with the mods in my signature and now I'm only getting like 11.2 with same track conditions. I'm getting beat by stock Z28's and stock gt's can see my car at least now, I don't like that. I just thought maybe the ls6 would be a really good base to start inon after I got the motor paid for. Thanks.

If you can get that LS6 with that few miles for that price then do it. You will have more power, and a nice low mileage engine not to worry about. Hell, with full bolt on's an LS6 can get pretty close to the magic 400rwhp number too...
