Default Help w/gear ratio shift points

I have a set of 3.73's installed as well as a 3200 stall. Anyhow, it just seems like my shift points/mps are a little low. @ the track the car is shifting into 4th before crossing the traps? Should this be the case w/the gear ratio and stall that I have?

Right now all I have is a Predator programmer. Can I adjust shift points, tc lockup? I'm in OD at very low mphs. Any tips/help would be appreciated.

You can calculate what speed you should get to in 3rd gear with calculators from:

^^^ that calc doesn't work well for autos because we have slippage through the torque converter...

you definetly don't want to be shifting into 4 at WOT... very hard on the transmission and no point unless you're running 125/126 in hte 1/4 mile.. and if you are then you need more tire at that point

unfrotuanetly I have no experience w/the predator unit so not sure what all it can adjust... w/hp tuners you can adjust every table associated w/the trans... but not sure what the predator will let you change...

Ok - so it may be off by a MPH or 2 for an auto - but he'll know if he should be in 3rd gear or not.

Well, I figure you should be able to hang onto 3rd
to at least 112-113MPH with those 3.73s, if you
have 17" rims and F1s like my car came with. The
Vig will slip more than my TCI though. If you can
stand the extra RPM then another MPH or two
might be in there. Unless you could force lockup
before the end of the 1/4 or want to finish on the
rev limiter, that's about all you can do with the
Predator. WOT shiftpoints and rev limit. Got to
fool it into using the right gear & tire ratios to
get realistic MPH points, its gear ratio setting is
a bit retarded. Do that first.

The car traps an avg of 108 (although I've hit 110 a few times as well), so I shouldn't have a problem holding onto 3rd gear.
