Default rear end compatibility?

I have a chance to pick up a 9" from a guy for $250. He said it came out of a Ford truck( it was given to him by his uncle for use in his 67 impala, but never used).. My question is, can this be used in my car? Also would it be cost effective, or even worth it? How much would be needed to convert it to fit my car if even possible. If this would work, then this price sounds a lot better then 2600+ for a moser, etc...

I figure it would need new gears, and probably posi, axles, etc. But I'm not sure,....... But I have faith that someone on here will know it

thanks,
Shawn

Default

well, I'm guessing that the rear I'm talking about might be the 8.8" ?????? And if so I think I just answered my own question, that is depending on whether the ford trucks use the 8.8 that everyone else is talking about
