Talking What headers with GMMG ?...

My car: 98 TA A4 [3.23s] with SLP Lid and GMMG Catback

Continuing the saga of GMMG what headers are you guys running ?...

I'm thinking about Jet Hot LTs .. is that a good choice ? I'm absolutely sticking with CATS so probably have an exhaust shop fabricate a catted-Y for me, unless there's one that'll

- be cheaper
- directly fit the GMMG catback + the Jet Hots

Finally, if anybody has this combo, how is the sound ? any clips ? email: ls1ta@optonline.net

How bad will the drone be [ I have an A4 ] ?

Anything else I should know/consider.. ? Please feel free to chime in with alternative choices and suggestions

Thanks!!

go with Kooks Stainless Steel. especially if your car is your DD. up in NJ your car will thank you. (i used to live in NY.) they'll last longer. won't have to worry about coating eating away or anything. will cost you more upfront, but will never have to worry about replacing them, ever. no rust worries either.

well go to ls1sounds.com it has an exact setup that you are looking for...jethots, catted y, and gmmg, its on a white automatic t/a...sound is great...although i haven't heard it in person that will be the majority of the answer...most everyone will prefer a setup similar to yours over most everything...i'm prolly gonna get rid of the cats myself...and if it is too raspy or loud ill put a moroso in the i-pipe....good luck

hehe... I might be moving to Texas [Arlington-Dallas area] Hopefully my snow-shovelling-blowing days are over we'll see!

I wonder how much Kooks SS cost... hmm.. I'll look into it thanks!

well go to ls1sounds.com
yeah I heard that.. But, somehow, the sound isn't real at all on a computer.. I realised this after hearing several GMMG'd cars on Ls1sounds, and then my own in person... vast difference.. even with my 6.1 Audigy, and THX set up..

Jet Hots are excellent headers. I was thinking about kooks, but for the money, you can't beat the jet hots. Their fit and finish are awesome and they look good too.

Jet-Hots are about the best bang for the buck headers available. ~$500 coated is a great price, and the quality is good. I have no fitment issues with mine...granted the coating is coming off, but thats because I drive my car in the salt.

I just got my Kooks with catted Y installed last night. I will have GMMG comming next. Install was cake. Just make sure you jack the car up real high to get the drivers side in and your good to go.

Kooks + GMMG

I paid $759 for my Kooks with emissions. Go with them, I love them. You won't regret it. Also with cats and the emissions, the PCM won't get as confused and you'll have less of a need for a tune.

Not even close. Jet hots are made of thicker gauge metal. 16vs18.

The new Pacesetters with TSP's catted/ORY is looking pretty damn good if you ask me. The new Pacesetters have had nothing but great reviews...Decisions decisions...

Not saying Pacesetters are bad. I've actually never seen them in person, but I've seen some of their other stuff and wasnt totally impressed.

Just for your info, gmmg's phase II cars had TTS headers and TTS y-pipe with cats. I went that route and the quality is awsome!
