Default Smog

Living in California, I am under the microscope for smog checks. I'm worried about the visual inspection for my "FAST" intake and TB. Anyone had any problems passing the visual because of bolt ons?

Have no worries about your intake or tb..

The visual is for catalytic converters?

From reading your sig, it looks like you should be good to go. I'm sure your shorties have a carb certificate.

What are the full specs on your cam?

They don't release the cam specs. About all I know is the lift is .581 or .589. User #52172 got his h/c done there and they didn't tell him either. I guess they don't want their secret formua out.

It depends on the shop, They can fail you for not havving a CARB # on it. Do you have any dyno#s of your current setup through the shorty headers?

Smog shops are supposed to check all parts/mods for CARB numbers. Technically, very few bolt ones are legal. Not even lids are legal due to the fact they do not come with carb numbers. From what I have heard, most shops will not take the time to check for carb numbers. It can be a long tedious process. However, most will check for cats, and make sure they are in the right place.
