Default Anyone ever fab up a custom intake??

Has anyone made a custom intake?? Seems the real power robber is in the intake manifold. Anyone ever make something like the c5r has? Anyone know where to buy something similar?

Not really man, Long runners increase torque at lower rpm
Short runners increase torque at higher rpm. It all depends on what you want to do with the motor. LSX 90mm is a pretty good intake, thats what I have on my car.

i was acctually thinking of making my own intake today, i have a spare ls1 intake now and from what i can tell the only difference between ls1 and ls6 intakes is plenum volume. so i figue i'm just gunna cut the bottom off and do a lil port work inside and then epoxy a clear flat piece of plexi glass on the bottom to increase volume. ur thinkings might be more radical though.

I understand the concept of short and long runners but they also have small plenums. The intake can not flow as much cfm as a good set of ported heads.
