Default Stainless versus brass fittings for mounting sending unit, which is stronger?

I need to mount a "tee" on my wifes car (2002 Grand Am 3.4L) so that I can run both the stock oil pressure idiot light sending unit and a new autometer oil pressure gauge sending unit. I bought a 1.5" brass nipple and brass tee at Lowes (1/4" NPT) but now, after feeling the heft of this sending unit.... (6.5 ounces), i'm wondering if the brass nipple can handle the constant stress/vibration. Is stainless alot stronger or not? I've found 304 and 316 stainess fittings for sale on the web. I want strong.
