Also make sure when you ask someone to mention if it has dual cats or not.

it should fit if its 3" piping, but it probly wont mount the same, might have to make custom brackets.

I dont know....the piping might be routed differently, and I would say its safe to say the mounting points would be different. Just give SLP a call like WILWAXU said

You can get GMMG to fit a 3rd gen, so i'm sure you'll be able to figure some way to get the loudmouth on too.

you also might want to check out http:www.thirdgen.org

Yeah it will fit. It will be just slightly off with the brackets though. If you don't mind slipping the local muffler guy a case of beer he will just cut off the brackes and reweld them about an inch over for you. Piece of cake. I did it on my 85 IROC with Headman Headers and ORY. Sounds rather wicked....

thanks guys. preciate the response. ill let him know. this is probably a stupid question, but would the stock manifolds off of a 99 fit on his 89? i just thought it would be a good way to gaurantee he had a decent sound and improve his performance a little. i dont see those old maniflods flowing as good as the newer ones. thanks a lot

Absolutely not. The orginal SBC exhaust ports look like this ---> 0 00 0
Whereas the LS1 looks like this ---> O O O O (like a Ford)
