What the heck?
Alright guys....why am I running a shitty 12.8 at a good 113mph? I know my 60ft sucks, but still. I see dudes run 11.7 and 12.0 at the same mph as me. Does that mean that once I get past my crappy 2.1 60ft that my car pulls harder than somebody that cuts a 1.6 60ft and runs the 1/4 at the same mph? I'm just curious about that. I also saw a guy that runs a 7.4 1/8 at 91mph, and I run an 8.4 at 90mph. Can somebody please explain how somebody can run a whole second faster than me, but only 1mph or less faster?
P.S. In case you are wondering, I never have a problem hooking at the track.

I think your nice MPH is coming from tire spin.
?-are you times with nitrous?

Re: What the heck?
Since you have not installed a convertor yet (have you?)...
You are seeing the gear spacing on the A4 trans coming into play. If you look at a dyno chart, you will see that serious power starts at 4500 rpm. But with the stock convertor, when the 1-2 shift happens, you drop to 3000 RPM which is outta the powerband. This is why convertors are so critical to A4 cars.
Oh, and get some damn tires, eh hoser? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Re: What the heck?
You need sticky tires. Even then you'll only sixty around 1.8. Converter is in your future <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Re: What the heck?
I have a vigilante 3400 sitting next to me right now. I'm putting it in on Saturday. Everybody mentioned that I need tires, but at the track, I barely get a bark off the line. I do hook surprisingly well. I'm sure I'll need tires when I get the stall in though. Thanks for all the advice guys. I appreciate it.

Re: What the heck?
Put the converter in, then get some tires... You'll see a world of difference.
A 2.1 60' with no traction problems? You must not be going WOT until after the 60' mark. With the converter and traction, your 113mph trap speed would be indicitive of 11.8-11.9 second ET's or so...
