I would play with the air pressure. from 24-28psi. take out everything thats not tied down in your car. you can remove the back seats in no time at all. take out the spare and jack. all the stuff in your center console and glove box. floor mats. some people run with no air filter. but i dont recommend it. you may have to slip the clutch a little since your on street tires.
if you take off the a/c belt you might as well put on a short belt tto. 15 bucks for a few HP. hope this helps.

Since you are running on regular radials you want to NOT get them wet. If possible you should simply go around the burnout box. The treads of radial tires seem to hold water, which is not good! I dont think you are going to be able to power break your car, but do try to get some white smoke off of the tires and make sure to roll out of your burnout.

You didnt say what size those tires are so its hard to determine what pressure you should run. I've never had good luck running a radial tire at a lower than recommended pressure. The tires need to stay flat and not cup, but this easily happens when you run too little pressure. Keep this in mind when hunting for tire pressure.

If your car spins ease up on the amount of initial 'hit' of the clutch. You should choose a starting launch rpm and work your way around from there. Say 2500 as a starting point. If the car bogs try 3000. If it spins dont use so much clutch.

Hope this helps.

actually if you're running a street radial (not a drag radial) it's best to totally drive around the waterbox, make sure you also don't drive through anyone's water tracks either so you don't drag water up to the line....do not do a "pro stock" style burnout, just one quick spin to clean off the tires do not really heat them up..............if at all possible, go after a very serious car and try to stage right in his rubber, it willhelp you hook up.............loosen up front sway bar bushings to help with weight transfer..........if you have an m6 don't rev it up and dump the clutch at a high rpm........better to launch a little lower and slip the clutch a bit, some wheelspin is good, but not much.

if you're more worried about a good "time" than saving you're tranny...........don't lift when you shift!! stay in the gas and shift quickly....also find out what rpms work good for you to shift and don't go beyond that...also don't shift too early..
good luck
have fun
it's addictive!!! <img border="0" alt="[driving]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_driving3.gif" />

Try 26psi,stay out of water box if possible an spin tires enough to get them warm. You don't want to much smoke are you will pick up rubber of burn area an that will cause traction problems stage lights Quick and hope the other racer does also. You have to find the RPM launch thats best for you with lots of runs.GOOD Luck and Safe Racing. <img border="0" alt="[driving]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_driving3.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

No huge smoking burnout, no water box.. jus spin the tires and get em puffing a bit and you'll be alright. It'll get all the junk and rocks offa em and warm em up a bit to get em as sticky as they're going to get.
