Default Need to remove welds that attach 3bolt flange to TTS header collector

I have TTS LT headers and would like to purchase the TSP Rumbler TD system. I would like to use my existing headers. The problem is that my headers have a 3bolt flange connected to each header collector. The TSP TD system is designed to slip on to the header collector.

I figure that I can remove the flange and have the muffler shop weld on a 3inch extension pipe to the short TTS collector. That way my headers will connect to the TSP TD Kit.

You can see the the way the TTS headers are designed to see what what I mean. Go to the camaro exhaust section of this link.

What is the best way to seperate a welded part?

Why not weld flanges to the TD system? Flanges are readily available and it will make for nice easy to remove connection. I upgraded my cats on the TTS system and just had a shop weld flanges to the front of the new cats.

My car is lowered and the flanges are just too large. Whenever I scrape, it is always the flanges that give me trouble. I want to clean it up down there(under car). I would like everything to be flush with the pipes. The flanges project about 1.5-2 inches from the pipes. Every inch matters on a lowered car.

thoughts?

I thought about cutting it off, but the TTS collector only extends a few inches past the o2 bung. If you look at the link you will see what I am talking about.
