Default Cam only cars with 3.23's within??

I hope im not the only one? I guess im to lazy to put bigger gears in the car <img border="0" alt="[shoot]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_guns.gif" />

Im just seeing where I stack up to others cam only and 3.23's. I know im not the quickest with 3.23's <img border="0" alt="[evil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />

I know Mike H went 10's, Jason99TA went 11.2's, Trevor went 11.4, and its a few in the 11.5's but mostly all with 3.73's and bigger

just asking because the 1/4th list up top is down <img border="0" alt="[judgement]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_judge.gif" />

'Kenny H' (who will chime in here tomorrow I'm sure <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> ) has run a best (so far) of 11.83@115+ with 3.23s (cam, convertor, Macs, ET Streets) in his '98 Formula...he might go quicker than that soon though. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[pimp]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_pimp.gif" />

looks like 11.50-11.70's is about the limit for 3.23's so far with stock heads

11.62 @ 116.23 with a 1.68 60

That was a slow *** tire spinning 60. With my usual low to sub 1.6 60 the car will run low 11.4s.

we need to have side by side shootout once <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Joe Prince drove my car to an 11.83 with a 1.68 60 ft time. My car actually 60 FTed better with the old little Vig 2800 simply because I have not gotten the car to 100% dead hook yet. That 11.83 run was before I had an LS6 intake as well.

No I do not think I will be able to make the North/South shootout this time.

That is a great picture of your car launching.

Time in sig, crap weather, with a lazy 1.71 60'. Corrected that is a 11.66 i think. Going with a bigger cam soon, better times to follow.

There's no reason you can't run some low 11s (or even tens if you have the motivation) with a cam only 3.23 geared car.

Think about it. I ran 11.82 with 3.23s. The 60ft was 1.61. This was at FULL weight, internally stock (as in, NO cam change), on drag radials, with a measly 3500 stall (TCI). Gimme a 4500 stall, some slicks, an ambitious camshaft, drop about 500 lbs, and I can promise you we'de see some 10s.

The only reason you don't see this is that by the time folks get this serious, they've already changed the gearing.

but for me the carpet, radio, and sway bars are all staying in <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

If done right, 3100 lbs can be done while keeping the radio, swaybar, carpet, and even the AC intact. Not easy! But possible.

For example, if I took my '00 (I know, it's a racecar at this point but just using it as an example of what can be done in the way of weight reduction) and added those things back (it already has full interior including carpet), it would weight only about 2900 lbs or so including a 180 lb driver and this is including a 10 point cage and various other safety items.

I must be gettin' serious though, cause I just swapped out my 3.23s for 3.73s. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
