not sure, but you could check the PCV hose connections on the valve covers and the lines itself, one could have broke, or a vaccum line.

That is the exact same noise my wallet makes whenever I have a problem during working on my car! Just kidding. Are there specific times it happens, or a specific area of the engine bay it is coming from? Definitely check any vacuum lines you disconnected.

I bet the PCV elbow at the back of driver's side valve cover is cracked. I did the same thing when swapping my springs, so I have a whistling motor too. It's most likely a vacuum leak.

What are the specs for the cam you are using?? Could tell us the PV clearance.
