Default Englishtown NJ

Anyone here heading out to Raceway park on Sat. 3/22/03? They are having Firebird vs Camaro vs Vette Challenge at 9am to 3pm. Would like to meet some fellow F-body owners in the NY/NJ area.

Well went to the track today. Did alright for my second time out.

1st pass / 2nd pass (left the car in 1st gear)
R/T .792 /
60' 2.148 / R/T .662
330 5.815 / 60' 2.140
1/8 8.796 / 330 5.967
MPH 83.16 / 1/8 9.696
1000 11.316 / MPH 69.50
1/4 13.461 / 1000 12.571
MPH 104.23 / 1/4 14.873
/ MPH 98.74

Screwed up the second pass but my R/T was ALOT better. Not bad for 3rd pass in my life. Ran against a 2001 Red SS (stock). He bogged bad at the line. Cool guy, says his son can get the car to do 13.0. This guy's best was 13.8 at 103.17. His R/T both passes with me against him 1.150 and 1.040 respectively. He was saying using the stick was pretty tough at the line. Hey Red Dragoness, saw you there at the track. Pointed at you but you looked at me like if I was crazy. I had on the black leather jacket. Nice times 12.5 12.4, did you manage to run quicker than your 12.1? Alot of vipers at the track too. 1 new 2003 model. And also saw the new Neon SRT. Wasn't running though.

1999 T/A A4 2.73 gears

I went to Etown also. Had my first (3) runs ever down the dragstrip. The first time I rolled too far past the 2nd light. I then was too slow to get ready.

This run I spun way too long in 1st gear.
R/T 1.501 (sleeping)
60' 2.665
1/4 14.625
MPH 104.65

2nd run I spun a lot less, but still too much reaction was bad.
R/T 1.300
60' 2.543
1/4 13.785
MPH 106.29

3rd run I ground 3rd for a second and then just put it in 4th at about 70mph....but the trap wasn't terrible for a 1-2-4 shift.

R/T .759
60' 2.480
1/4 14.59
MPH 96.34

I had a lot of fun and learned it was a lot harder than I thougth. I couldn't get any traction off the line. I didn't mess with my tires at all because I wasn't planning on running, so they had between 35-38 psi I assume. The car is set up for the roadcoarse. The rear shocks are stiff, as I am still waiting for fronts to arrive. What is a good 60' time for street tires?

Hey Roarin8 you should have come up and said hi. Usually when someone is pointing at me it is to make a snide remark about a "bitch" driving a TA. Sorry if I looked at you like you were crazy.

No smart remarks here . I was going to go up to you but your line was moving up. Was waiting by your car though when you had the hood up, bout 10 min. That lower airbox of yours is pretty high. What kind of headers are you running? And nice tires, what kind are they? When will be the next time you are heading out there? We can hook up then.

Hey Dennis, I managed to get a 2.1 60' time with my street tires. Had the PSI set to 28. And I'm due for new tires too.
