Default Replacing Oil Pump in a C5

Looking to replace a oil pump in my buddies 2000 C5 M6 car do I absolutly have to pull out the crossmember and suspend the engine???? or is there any other way????

nope just remove the sterring rack. pull off the crank pully and timing chain cover and your all set.

what about disconnecting the pick up tube can you do that with the pan on?

Yes. The pickup tube bolt is in a much better position on the C5s. Very easy to do. No need to do anything to the oil pan bolts.

worked on numerous ls1 camaro's is this about the same amount of work? How long of a job is this with tools ready to go?
